The ground segment consists of an ensemble of facilities responsible for the acquisition, processing, distribution and archiving of the satellite data and of the derived products. It consists of a transmitter, receiver, antenna, process hardware and software. Its role is to control the satellite and keep track of it. The telemetry system conveys information about the state and health of the various subsystems to the ground station. A command system transmits the required commands to the satellite from the ground station. The ground station, after receiving the data from the satellite processes it and analyses it.
